Far away they were from Churches and Cathedrals, even cheers and prayers to choir and Hammond before the public, those first praises elevated to the sky that hovered over their heads. From the harshest reality, endless journeys under a ruthless sun, a lifeless life, yielded their souls of ebony, their lamentations and prayers to a God, hitherto unknown to them, step by step through their rough soft cotton jail and railroad tracks.
These declamations, petitions and lamentations were converted with their own language and race, at the beginning of one of the most important musical and cultural movements of North America, until today evolved and branched in all its forms. “Algodones de sangre” tells the beginning. How the search for freedom, justice and survival of a people has no borders, how this search becomes art, today, today, shared, respected and admired around the world. E&A presents in this new project the evolutionary route of this genre, including its great artists, such as Mahalia Jackson, great pioneer of the purest spiritual black, reaching to the very same Nina Simone, or the great Jessye Norman. Great artists who have echoed this great legacy, taking it to classic and modern genres, from its creation to the present day.

11 Editions of the Gospel Canarias Festival in which it has managed to position this international genre as a reference in the November 2016 and December 2016 dates in the archipelago and continues opening quarry among the best local voices, organizing workshops with some of the most renowned musicians today.
The Festival is one of the most emblematic events in the archipelago, maintaining its level of quality and diversification, as the best groups and corals of this genre is joined by the fact that it is offered in several islands, including Tenerife, Gran Canaria, La Gomera, La Palma and El Hierro, and in different scenarios.
