A volcanic black sand beach along Tenerife’s west coast
Right in the middle of the small tourist town of Puerto de Santiago you will find Playa de la Arena beach. Situated along the west coast of Tenerife, its black sand is more than just a picturesque contrast against the white foam of the waves, but also absorbs the heat of the sun, which makes this a warm beach with a delightful temperature whatever time of the year you decide to visit. The volcanic rocks that flank the beach make this an excellent spot for snorkelling or scuba-diving to discover fascinating marine life.
A fully-serviced small urban beach
Playa de la Arena is a small urban beach with excellent transport connections via bus or taxi. Behind the beach is a large commercial avenue where you’ll find a huge variety of shops, bars and restaurants – one restaurant is positioned right on the beachfront.
